Police have identified Lamon Wiggins, the 18-year-old student who died following a shooting in Hyde Park early Saturday morning.

At around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, Cincinnati Police responded to a call reporting a shooting at the baseball field near Withrow High School on Madison Road and Dana Avenue.

Some kind of late night/early morning event taking place in the parking lot was interrupted with the sound of gunfire.

Upon arrival, respondents located Lamon Wiggins suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was then transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The 18-year-old graduated Friday night.

Before the shooting, police said that there was a gathering of around 50 people from Friday night into the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police have not said if they have a suspect.
