Burned Remains of Woman Found in North St. Louis Identified as Kiya Michelle

The burned remains of woman were found in north St. Louis Saturday evening, a brief report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Detectives with the police department’s Homicide Division began investigating the death.

The woman, identified as Kiya Michelle, was found around 8:30 p.m. in a parking lot located on the 1200 block of Switzer Avenue, in the Baden neighborhood of St. Louis.

The location is near Baden Avenue.

According to the police, Michelle, who is believed to be in her 20s, was found unconscious and not breathing.

Authorities confirmed she had been set on fire and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
