One dead, one stable after shooting on Faxton Street in Utica

Key Amonie, a 19-year-old woman is dead and a man is in stable condition after they were shot on Faxton Street in Utica very early this morning, according to the Utica Police Department.

No arrests have been made so far, authorities stated.

Police said multiple gunshots were reported on Faxton Street in the early morning hours, and responding officers found a man shot in the back and the 19-year-old shot in the chest.

Both victims were rushed to Wynn Hospital for treatment.

Despite life-saving efforts, police said the woman died from her injuries at the hospital. The man is in stable condition.

The investigation into the shootings remains ongoing. Police said they are also looking into the possibility that the gunfire was connected to two other incidents around the same time period: a man shot inside a store on South Street at 12:30 a.m. and a house that was shot multiple times on Howard Avenue at about 3:30 a.m.
