A West Palm Beach woman, Kelvi McCray, was shot and killed late Wednesday night while on a FaceTime call with three witnesses, according to the West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD).

An affidavit details how one of the witnesses on the call saw Kelvi McCray shot in the back and head. This witness subsequently identified the suspect, 19-year-old Keisean Shaw, from a photographic lineup.

Jail records indicate that the individual in question, known as Keisean Shaw, was taken into custody on a charge of first-degree murder involving a firearm.

Shaw, aged 19, was unable to attend court proceedings on Thursday morning due to being hospitalized.

Law enforcement officers discovered him with a gunshot wound to the head at the same residence where the victim was found.

Officers found the suspect and victim shortly after 9:40 p.m. after responding to a 911 call about a shooting on West 13th Street — near Gaines Park — off the north Australian Avenue.

They were both rushed to a nearby hospital, where the victim, Kelvi McCray, was pronounced dead about a half-hour later.

The police report described Shaw as the victim’s estranged boyfriend and noted he was still living in the home with her at the time.

Detectives were told he did not take the break-up well and had even pointed a gun at her the previous night.

The affidavit also noted a warrant had been issued against Shaw on counts including aggravated assault with a firearm and domestic battery by strangulation.
