The Metro Nashville Police Department is investigating after a woman was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting Sunday afternoon.
Kelveonna Holmes, 22, her boyfriend and their three-year-old son were sitting in their vehicle outside a home on the 2400 block of Woodale Lane when police said another vehicle drove in front of the house and fired shots.
Holmes was shot and rushed to Skyline Medical Center, where she died from her injuries, MNPD said. Her boyfriend sustained a graze wound, and the child was unharmed.
Shell casings still covered the road outside the house on Monday morning and multiple bullet holes were visible in the house and cars parked in the driveway.
The young mom, boyfriend and child had been visiting the home when the shooting happened.
MNPD said this is the second time in two days shots were fired at the Woodale Lane home, however, no one was injured during Saturday’s gunfire.
The home’s resident told police he did not know why someone was shooting at his property. No one answered the door at the home when a WSMV crew went to request an interview on Monday.
Police said the investigation into the shootings is still active and ongoing. Detectives are trying to figure out whether the incident on Saturday is connected to the murder on Sunday.
