A 21-year-old woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash on the interstate near Valley Center on Wednesday.
It happened at around 3:20 p.m. on I-135 just north of 85th Street.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports traffic was congested when a northbound Toyota Camry struck the rear of a Honda Accord and continued into the median.
The Toyota then crossed into the southbound lanes and crashed head-on into an oncoming Ford F-450.
The woman driving the Toyota, Katelyn Heier of Sedgwick, died at the scene.
The patrol’s online crash log shows she was not wearing a seat belt.
A passenger in the pickup truck complained of pain, and no one else was hurt.
