A man was killed in a horrific crash in West Los Angeles on Friday night, officials said.
On Friday, the crash victim was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examineras 53-year-old Karsten Gopinath.
Aerial images showed the wreckage of the multi-car crash near the intersection of West Olympic Boulevard and Centinela Avenue, on the border of West LA and Santa Monica.
The crash shut down Centinela Ave. for hours before eventually reopening.
An official with the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed a vehicle was traveling westbound on Olympic Blvd. when it crashed into a vehicle that was going eastbound on Olympic that was turning southbound on Centinela.
Gopinath was declared dead at the scene. Two others were taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
