As Kanye West is currently hard at work in Uganda to finish his much-anticipated album “Yandhi”, new details about the upcoming effort have been revealed. Coming from Quavo, he revealed that his group Migos took part in the production.
Sitting down with Power 106’s “The Cruz Show” in Los Angeles to promote his recently released debut solo album “Quavo Huncho”, Quavo spilled that the Atlanta-based hip-hop group recorded a track for “Yandhi”. “I did a record for [Kanye], we did a record for ‘Yandhi’. He called us,” the leader of the three-piece group said.
There’s no telling whether their collaboration will make the final cut, though.
Migos will join other collaborators who have been confirmed by Kanye to be featured on the album. Among them are Tekashi69 a.k.a. 6ix9ine and the late XXXTentacion. He also says that Ty Dolla $ign will appear on multiple tracks, and that he is sending a hook to Rihanna for her to sing. It is not known who co-produced the tracks alongside the Yeezy founder.
During his stay at Uganda, Kanye did a live streaming on Twitter to perform a preview of his new music, which might be included on his new album. “Relax your mind/ Let your conscious be free/ No matter what they say/ I’m gonna still be free,” he rapped inside his makeshift recording studio, shouting out A$AP Ferg‘s name at one point.
“Yandhi” was supposed to be released on the same day as his “Saturday Night Live” performance, but it is eventually being pushed as he “didn’t finish” it in time. Hinting at the new effort in an interview with TMZ Live, he said, “I started incorporating sounds you’ve never heard before, concepts that people don’t talk about. Concepts talking about body shaming, women being locked down upon for how many people they’ve slept with.”
The album is now due out on Black Friday, November 23.
