One person is dead and another was arrested following a shooting in the early morning hours of Sunday (Nov. 17)
At 12:23 a.m., the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to a shooting in the 100 block of East Herndon Street.
Upon arrival, officers found the alleged suspect at the scene and detained them. Once inside the residence, they found the victim.
Officers immediately began CPR on the victim and called for the Shreveport Fire Department (SFD).
When Firefighters arrived, they attempted medical assistance; but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:55 a.m.
At 11:16 a.m., the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Kali Lynch-Roberts, 29.
SPD reports that a handgun was used in the shooting.
The suspect was booked into Shreveport City Jail and charged with second-degree murder.
Lynch-Roberts’ death marks the 47th homicide in Caddo Parish in 2024, the 44th within Shreveport city limits.
