Kadrian Harris, Malik Henderson: Two killed in early Saturday wreck on Turner McCall

Two people died in a head-on crash overnight that involved a speeding driver, according to Rome Police.

The collision also left a 1-year-old with injuries, police added.

Floyd County Deputy Coroner Jordan Pierson said 23-year-old Kadrian Harris and 23-year-old Malik Henderson died from their injuries.

The deadly crash happened on Turner McCall Boulevard at Dogwood Drive just before 1:40 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities saw a speeding driver — in a black Dodge Charger — near Lavender Drive and tried to catch up to the vehicle. Since the Charger, which accelerated to an excess of 90 miles per hour, was going so fast, police said they decided not to pursue the vehicle further.

They said another officer spotted the car going over 100 miles per hour near Riverside Parkway and checked the area for the vehicle to see if it had possibly crashed.

Rome Police said the officer found a crash scene where the Charger had hit another car head-on and was now off the road on fire.

Rome Police said in the other vehicle was Harris, Henderson — the front seat passenger — and the 1-year-old in the rear.

The child was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, according to police, but the two adults were pronounced dead.

Rome Police said charges have not been completed yet in this case.
