Member of Parliament for the Adansi-Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region, K.T Hammond, was seen on the floor of Parliament demanding that Members of Parliament for the NDC who had taken over the majority side of house move to their side.

Ahead of the dissolution of the 7th Parliament of the Fourth Republic, the MPs for the NDC who are in the minority in this Parliament entered the chamber earlier to occupy the right side which belongs to the NPP.

The situation caused a moment of drama as the 60-year-old K.T Hammond was seen leading the charge for his colleagues.

He was however restrained and taken to his colleagues who had no choice but to sit at the other side.

The NDC believe they have won the majority seats in the 8th Parliament which is yet to be inaugurated, but the official results from the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) do not suggest so.

Per the EC’s results, both the NDC and the NPP have 137 seats each and one seat for the independent candidate representing the Fomena constituency.
