A man is dead following an early-morning shooting, according to officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department.
On Sunday around 1:20 p.m. officers said they responded to the 900 block of East Third Street in reference to a shooting.
When responding units arrived, they said they found a man in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS arrived and pronounced him dead.
The victim was later identified as Justin Jay Brown. This incident is being investigated as a homicide by our Criminal Investigations Division (CID).
At this time, officers said the shooting did not appear to be a random act of violence, but there is no information about a suspect.
The next of kin of Brown has been notified.
