It ended 1-0 at the Selhurst park as Crystal Palace beat 19th place Watford by a solitary goal to add to the woes of the relegation threatened club. Jordan Ayew got the goal yet again.

Ayew has now scored in back to back games after he scored last week in yet another 1-0 win away at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The goal in the London derby against Watford was Ayew’s 8th of the season, the highest tally of any palace player this season.

Most notably, that was also his 24th goal in the English top flight, making him the joint highest topscoring Ghanaian in the league with former Leeds United legend,Tony Yeboah.

‘Yegoala’ as he is affectionately called by the Leeds faithful scored 24 goals for Leeds United in 3 seasons from 1994 to 1997.

Ayew has been in the league since he made his big money move from french side Lorient to Aston Villa in 2015.

The Ghanaian international then got relegated with Aston Villa but after 6 months in the championship, he was back in the league with Swansea securing his signature.

Relegation to Swansea meant Ayew was on the move again and this time Crystal Palace snapped him up, initially on loan before making the deal permanent. Ayew has  repaid the faith shown in him by Roy Hodgson, scoring 8 goals this season with some of them coming at crucial times.

He is now on 8 goals for the season as Palace look push higher up the EPL league log.
