One person is dead and another hospitalized following a shooting on Friday (Nov. 15) morning in Hammond, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.
A spokesperson says two brothers arrived at a home on Robinson Road just off Old Covington Highway and got into a fight shortly after getting out of the car.
The boyfriend of the boys’ mother attempted to intervene when one of the brothers, 25-year-old Jonathan Watson, went back to the car and retrieved a firearm.
Watson and the mother’s 55-year-old boyfriend exchanged gunfire.
Watson was killed in the shooting and the 55-year-old is recovering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The investigation is ongoing, but at this time, no charges have been filed.
