A 22-year-old woman died at a local hospital after she and her mother were stabbed during an incident Sunday at a Mobile apartment complex, according to police.
The Mobile Police Department said it was about 6:30 p.m. when officers responded to One Ten Apartments at 110 Long St. They found two victims with injuries, one of which was life-threatening. The two female victims were transported to local hospitals, where one of the victims succumbed to her injuries a short time later, police said.
The deceased victim has been identified as Joirdan Jones, 22.
The investigation revealed Joirdan Jones and her mother were at the location retrieving belongings when an argument ensued with a former roommate.
The argument turned physical and the roommate armed herself with a knife, ultimately stabbing the women, police said.
The case will be presented to a grand jury, the MPD said.
