A 34-year-old Simi Valley woman was stabbed late last week and her live-in boyfriend arrested on suspicion of murder, police reported Sunday.
Officers said they found Jessica Tinoco suffering from multiple stab wounds to the face, chest and abdomen after responding to a call of a domestic violence incident in progress shortly after 6 p.m. Friday.
Police said the woman’s teenage daughter reported the incident at a local residence in the 800 block of California Avenue, which is located west of First Street and north of Royal Avenue.
The woman was transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, where she succumbed to her injuries within the hour, police Sgt. Richard Morton said Sunday.
Morton said he understands the woman was stabbed with a knife.
A suspect identified in jail records as Ramon Joseph Rivas, 34, of Simi Valley was taken into custody and booked into county jail on the murder charge.
He remained there Sunday and is ineligible for release.
He is due to appear in court Tuesday.
