An 18-year old teenager identified as Jermaine Thirkield has died in a shooting that took place at the intersection of Flat Rock Road and Macon Road.
On Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 7:21 p.m., Columbus Police officers responded to the area of Schatulga Road and Macon Road in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, they discovered two Black males suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS arrived and transported both victims to the hospital.
Jermaine Thirkield succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 8:28 p.m. by an ER doctor.
The other victim was taken into surgery for his injuries. He remains in critical condition.
