A domestic dispute turned deadly early Sunday morning in Sumter, resulting in the arrest of a local woman on murder charges.
According to officials with the SCPD Officers were dispatched to a residence on Putter Drive shortly before 6:30 a.m., where they discovered 23-year-old Jasmine Symone Woods inside the home.
A man, later identified as 34-year-old Antoin Pugh, was found lying on the floor with a gunshot wound.
Pugh was treated at the scene before being transported to Prisma Health Tuomey, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
According to initial reports, Woods and Pugh were previously in a relationship. Authorities believe the estranged couple was engaged in an argument before the fatal shooting occurred.
Woods, who resides at a different address on Putter Drive, was taken into custody and booked at the county detention center.
The investigation is ongoing as officers work to piece together the events that led to the tragedy.
