Maurielle Lue started her journalism career at 16, winning her first international journalism award in the same year.

At 23, she was tapped to cover the Virginia Tech shooting massacre, standing shoulder to shoulder with the nation’s best national correspondents and delivering live reports for MSNBC and WVVA-TV, a local NBC station.

Before moving to Detroit, Maurielle worked in Cleveland Ohio at ABC affiliate WEWS.

While at WEWS, she served as a General Assignment Reporter, Breaking News Reporter, Traffic Reporter and Morning Anchor.

Her first real TV job took me to the hills of West Virginia, to NBC station WVVA.

She reported during the week, and anchored, produced and reported for my own newscast on the weekends.

She  interviewed several notable icons, including Dr. Phil and Homer Hickam, former NASA engineer and inspiration for the 1999 film, “October Sky.

Maurielle Lue briefly reported for ESPN.

She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
