Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson can’t help but show her exctitement over the government’s intention to build more hospitals in the country.

According to the actress, she’s glad the government intends to build more hospitals amidst the COVID 19 crisis.

President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffu Addo in his nation’s address late Sunday evening gave updates on the country’s fight against the deadly corona virus.

In his speech, he noted that the virus has opened the government’s eyes on the lapses in the healthcare system of the country and as such, his government is effective from now to the next year going to ensure that 88 district hospitals and 6 regional hospitals will be constructed across the country.

His speech sparked mixed reactions amongst Ghanaians as many are wondering why we have to wait till now to implement such a policy.

On her official twitter handle, the actress expressed sadness on why it had to take an outbreak of a disease to bring this policy into existence.

She however expressed joy in the initiative, noting it was necessary for the nation. She tweeted;

“it’s unfortunate that it took this pandemic for us to patronize our healthcaresystem.

And not just in Ghana, but so many other nations where wealth came before life.

Either way I’m glad that we’re being forced to put it first.

Better late than never.”
