Dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah well known by his stage name Shatta Wale seems to have been angered by a decision by a Ghanaian video director delay his works for release (reasons unknown).
The musician in a rant on Saturday morning February 13 2016 asked his fans not to blame him for his inability to release music videos consistently since most of the video editors are hesitant at editing his works after shooting.
He disclosed the lazy attitude by these directors account for where Ghanaian musicians find themselves compared to our neighbouring country Nigeria where the musicians make it big.
“I want to take this opportunity to tell the whole world that am fed up with these lazy video directors in Ghana..that’s why Nigerians are making it big in the world..Shame on you all”
The Kakai hit maker who recently performed at the Glo CAF Awards in Nigeria explained the reasons for the delay in finishing his works is due to favouritism by the directors.
“All the video directors in Ghana just have their favorite artiste so they tend to delay me in their editing when i shoot with them”
It is unknown which video director could have angered him to the extent that he refers to most Ghanaian directors as lazy.
Another question remains, is it compulsory to shoot with only Ghanaian directors? Why not try directors from other countries including Nigeria and South Africa knowing most of the Ghanaian directors have their personal favourites already?
