I Wrote “Y3 Wo Krom” for Atom - Stay Jay

Tema based musician, William Kojo Johnson known in the showbiz circles as Stay Jay has revealed that he wrote Atom’s popular song Ye Wo Krom and a couple of other hit songs that hit the airwaves sometime back.

Stay Jay made this revelation on the Showbiz Agenda hosted by Sammy Flex on Zylofon Fm earlier today.

As monitored by ghlinks.com.gh, the Tema based musician disclosed that he writes songs for most artistes but Ghanaians are not aware of it because it’s normally business. “I’ve written songs for most artistes that Ghanaians are not aware about. I wrote Atom’s Ye Wo Krom and a couple of others. Atom is my boy. When I write it’s normally business.

Stay Jay revealed that he hasn’t been totally away from the music industry, but has been playing a couple of shows and doing business for some time now, thus the reason for his absence. “I’ve been in and out of town, playing gigs here and there and recording”.

Touching on whether the Tema based musicians were still together currently, Stay Jay said at the moment, the team of young musicians that were doing music in the late 2000’s at Tema have all left Tema, but do reconnect in the studios. He explained that they’ve matured and have all sought for residence outside Tema, so meeting on regular basis isn’t happening.

Answering Sammy Flex’s question of which record label he is signed to, the musician disclosed he was under his own record label and was managing affairs on his own. “I am signed on ASB music. I am the CEO”. He also disclosed that he is capable of signing a young artiste and managing him/her but hasn’t done so yet. “I can sign an artiste under me. I haven’t done so now but I support a couple of them”. Touching on where he gets financial support or whether he faces financial challenges in managing his own self, he said he does everything by himself and that it was difficult but he pushes through irrespective. “I finance everything on my own-from events, to music promos, etc. it isn’t easy but I still push through.” He added that he is willing to allow someone to support him. “If I get someone who can push me, am in for it but for now, am doing my own thing”.

In a response to whether he does rap music or singing, he added that he is not only restricted to just rap music but is a versatile artiste. “I don’t just do rap music. I sing too”. He added that singers have more potentials to sell than just rappers. “Only rap can’t take you far. Even the legendary Jay Z can’t compare himself to Michael Jackson”.

Stay Jay was in the studios of Zylofon Fm to promote his new single Chocolate from one of his upcoming albums. He disclosed that he would be releasing three albums in a short while. The first two he said he would release at the same time and the next a short while after. “Ghanaians miss me. Am doing this for them”.
