I won’t contest in 2024 – Kennedy Agyapong On Why He Is Quitting Parliament

Kennedy Agyapong

Assin Central lawmaker, Kennedy Agyapong, says he’s resigning after 24 years in parliament.

According to him, the electorates have been ungrateful thinking he has been doing nothing for them for the past 24years and therefore it’s important he steps down for someone to take over.

“I’m doing a lot for my people but a whopping 42 percent of the electorates in the 2020 polls think I’m not doing well, so I’m leaving but would wait patiently to see if any MP can do what I did,” he said.

To buttress the seriousness of his decision, he added: “Even if I’m given 1,000 cows, I will not go back because I want the people to know that I am fighting for their wellbeing and not myself as an MP.”
