Award winning movie director, Shirley Frimpong-Manso has disclosed that she went into movie production to change the way Ghana was being portrayed to the world.

She said she wasn’t impressed with the stories that were being told about Ghana on the screens and therefore got inspired to help change that trend.

She consequently enrolled in the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) to study directing so she could direct and produce better movies.

Today, Shirley Frimpong-Manso is a multiple award winning movie producer and director who has 10 movies to her credit.

She won Best Director for The Perfect Picture at the 2010 African Movie Academy Awards, where her films garnered a total of four awards.
