The music scene has seen some mind blowing features like that involving Sarkodie and gospel act Herty Bongreat, Trigmatic and Herty Bongreat and a couple of other great features but we would have been hit with the greatest yet involving Yaa Pono and Archbishop Duncan Williams.
Hip-life music Solomon Adu Antwi best known as Yaa Pono has revealed that he wanted to feature the prominent archbishop on a song he wrote just to praise God but the Archbishop and his team were not interested in the initiative.
Yaa Pono made this known in an interview with Abeiku Santana.
Yaa Pono has been known for his unique style of rap music-hilarious and catchy. He revealed at the point when he wrote the song praises, he added edits and sermons from the prominent Man of God and felt the need to give his team a heads up before releasing the song so he wrote to them, only to get a reply that they weren’t interested in getting involved in the initiative. “We really wanted to do this. This was a good song called praises. We did some edits and we felt like we had to tell them so we wrote to them but they said no, they are not interested.”
According to the hip-life musician, the move was a step in the right direction because it was a song of praises and would have pulled people to listen to the message it preached but it was unfortunate the while initiative didn’t materialize.
