I Have Never Ever Slept With Any Man For Money –Linda Ikeji

Born and raised in Imo State, Nigeria, Linda Ifeoma Ikeji is an ace news carrier blogger, former model, entrepreneur and writer. The now accomplished blogger in her bid to execute her duty as role model to young ladies took to “Linda Ikeji TV” to send a message to young ladies.

In commencing her message, Linda Ikeji referenced a quote by Steve Maraboli that reads, “The empowered woman is powerful beyond measure and beautiful description”.

She proceeded to address the large percentage of young women who are sleeping with men for money and gave a caveat about addressing the matter at hand, without judgment. Her message was mainly to those who haven’t started the lifestyle, as she doubts her ability to convince those involved, to stop.

As monitored by ghlinks.com.gh, the former model highlighted some of her priced possessions she has acquired. One of said possessions being a mansion she acquired in 2015 in Banana Island, Nigeria valued at US$2,069,512.50.

In addition to that, she owns and currently drives a Bentley Mulsanne and has also made investments to set her up for life. All this, she has acquired and says “I have never ever slept with a man for money”. Not only does she maintain that she’s self-made, she also maintained that she has never considered sleeping with a man for money; she always turns to her brain for help, not her body.

She recounts being approached by a man when she was eighteen (18) years old, with a seemingly juicy offer, which she respectfully turned down whiles telling herself that she’ll get hers eventually. Poverty, a sense of hopelessness and of course greed, she said, are some of the reasons why some young ladies sleep with men for money.

As a young lady who wasn’t born into a rich home, she knew at age seventeen (17) that she wanted to succeed on her own terms and with the help of God. She believes that when a woman wants to succeed as badly as she wants to breathe, she can achieve anything.

Her story, as narrated, is not without failures. Linda recalled modeling before gaining admission to study English language at University of Lagos (UNILAG) and shortly after, contesting in Miss Nigeria 2003 without winning. She also started an Events company after university, a magazine, Marketing and P.R company, a TV modeling show, a Reality TV modeling company, writing a book(she sold less than 500 copies), and all these ventures failed. Even 13 years after trying to succeed, Linda said that was still broke and struggling. This led her to cry many nights because she had at that point been working for so long without being blessed the way she hoped she’d be but giving up, for her, wasn’t an option.

Linda began writing at age 10 and after her ventures didn’t go as planned, she went back to her first love – writing, in 2006; her writing took the form of blogging. At the time, the internet wasn’t as accessible to most Nigerians so she went to Cybercafés, bought “time” and blogged. She recalled blogging passionately for four (4) years without making money. Her breakthrough came in her sixth year. Failure, she said, is part of success. Without failure, there’s no learning. In rounding off her advice, she reminded ladies that they can give themselves the lives they want. Belief in oneself, working hard & smart are all it takes.

The ace blogger won Nigeria Blog Awards and Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards, both in 2013. Her current net worth runs into millions of dollars.
