Ghanaian actress and movie producer, Yvonne Nelson has stated that she doesn’t want to belong to any political parties in Ghana because she thinks they are all the same.
The actress who was in an interview with Accra based Hitz Fm on Monday said she might rather join the United Nations to work with them so she can help others.
Ever since she led the ‘Dumsor Must Stop’ campaign some few years ago during the tenure of the NDC, Yvone Nelson has been tagged as an NPP member and has even received the backlash from society. Eyebrows were raised when she was appointed tourism ambassador when the NPP came into power in 2016.
However, as monitored by ghlinks.com.gh, the award winning actress has cleared the air about her affiliation with political parties by saying that she doesn’t want to be attached to any political party but wants to be that advocate for the hopeless in society. “It may happen in the future but I don’t want to be affiliated with party A or B. I want to help society. I want to be that voice that always highlights things in the society. Maybe I’ll work with the UN”, she said.

In a response to whether she wouldn’t want to enjoy security escorts like politicians do when they are in power, she disclosed that she thinks it’s even dangerous and embarrassing and doesn’t see herself in that situation.
