Mahama has made a bold statement concerning the final judgment given by the Supreme Court.

In what he described as a disappointment, he registered his resentment over the process of the trial and some comments made by the Lawyers of the Respondents during the hearing of the case.

Mr. Mahama referring to the moment Tsatsu Tsikata quoted a Bible verse in the Court, fumed over the remarks of Lawyer Akoto Ampaw to shoot down Tsatsu’s statement.

He reiterated that justice is rooted in moral foundations.

This comment follows the final judgment of the Supreme Court of Ghana on his petition was declared earlier today. Mahama, who had hoped to get a rerun of the elections after alleging that none of the candidates secured more than 50% of the votes.

However, the Supreme Court unanimously dismissed the petition on grounds of having no merits.

The Chief Justice indicated that the errors made could not subvert the will of the people.

Mahama addressing the nation has boldly rejected the Supreme Court’s ruling. He addressed from the Headquarters of the NDC in Greater Accra Region.

He said; “Much as I am aware that we are legally bound by the decisions of the highest court of the land, the Supreme Court of Ghana, I disagree with the process of the trial and the ruling of the Supreme Court. Justice is rooted in moral foundation.”
