I Didn’t Have Faith In Mahama’s Election Petition – Asiedu Nketiah

Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has explained that he had no confidence in the Party’s 2020 Election Petition.

The NDC flagbearer for the 2020 Election, John Dramani Mahama filed a petition at the Supreme Court challenging the declaration of Nana Akufo-Addo as President-elect.

Among other claims, the Petition also claimed that none of the candidates who contested the election obtained the constitutionally mandated threshold of 50%+1.

The Case was unanimously dismissed by the Supreme Court panel of seven judges, presided by the Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin Yeboah.

However, in what is probably his first reaction after the court delivered its Verdict, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah says he never believed in the Petition in the first place.

According to him, the popular ‘go-to court’ chorus which was consistently thrown at the NDC immediately they expressed dissatisfaction with the results, led him to believe that something may have pre-emptively been done with the Court.

Speaking with Citi FM’s Umaru Sanda Amadu, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah predicted that the next election will be worse considering the fact that the Apex Court missed the opportunity to hold people accountable.
