Becca has stated that, contrary to reports being misunderstood and disseminated by the traditional media, she is not quitting music.
According to the musician who first gained recognition as a contestant on the second season of TV3’s annual singing competition Mentor, she is not actively going to involve herself in recording new music, but rather invest in “worthy and talented” artistes who lack the financial stability and coaching to improve their craft.
Reports has it that, the celebrated Ghanaian musician is completely taking a bow out of music, which obviously explain she isn’t going to record new songs neither is she going to perform her old songs. According to the reports, her resolutions this year are backed with full proof plans to see to its fruition.
However, speaking in an interview with awards-winning entertainment Journalist, Doreen Avio at the launch of Joy FM’s Valentine’s Day event dubbed ‘The Love Experience’, Becca debunked such rumors explaining that, she’s open to being booked for shows, in and out of Ghana as she already has hit singles and good albums in her catalogue.
Becca revealed that she has invested in numerous businesses which are also serving as sources of income even after she takes the break at the end of 2020, adding that she would be signing new acts to train and nurture through their journey in music.
Becca’s debut studio album Sugar was released in 2007; it earned her five nominations at the 2008 Ghana Music Awards. The album’s lead single “You Lied to Me” won Record of the Year at the aforementioned awards show.[6] Becca released her second studio album Time 4 Me on 16 May 2013. It features guest appearance from 2face Idibia, M.I, King Ayisoba, Trigmatic, Jay Storm and Akwaboah.
The album was certified 2x platinum in Ghana. Becca’s accolades include one Kora Award, one National Youth Achievers Award, four Ghana Music Awards, and three 4Syte TV Music Video Awards. In 2013, she headlined the annual Girl Talk concert, which started in 2011. Becca was ranked 94 on E.tv Ghana’s 2013 list of the 100 most influential people in Ghana.
