I Am Not Leaving Zylofon Anytime Soon -Kumi Guitar

Zylofon signed highlife artiste, Nana Yaw Kumi, known in showbiz as Kumi Guitar has stated categorically that he isn’t leaving Zylofon anytime soon,  despite the issues circulating in the country about Zylofon CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah.

The Chief Executive Officer of Zylofon Media who also turns out to be the boss of Menzgold,  Nana Appiah Mensa also known as NAM 1 has been in the news for some months now concerning issues with the Bank Of Ghana and his gold firm. This has caused many customers of the gold firm to get agitated and furious.

In an interview monitored by www.ghlinks.com.gh on Showbiz Agenda with Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM,  the highlife musician said he was in contract with Zylofon Media, and even if the worst happens he wouldn’t leave his management. “I  with Zylofon till till… I don’t think I am going to leave Zylofon”. Reacting to a question asked by Sammy Flex as to whether he was thinking about exiting the management since Stonebowy has declared he will leave in March when his contract ends,  he explained that for him, he owes loyalty to Zylofon Media and will keep his word. “So far as I am concerned, even if there’s nothing to gain at Zylofon, I will still be here”.

Kumi Guitar emphasized that he feels for the customers of Menzgold in the on-going saga and hopes everything settles for the good of all.  “I pray things settle for Zylofon and Menzgold. I know it’s difficult.”

Touching on what transpired between him and his former management,  Kumi Guitar stated that everything that was spread about him after he parted ways with his former management were lies that were aimed at tarnishing his image as an artist.

He added that at a point, he felt it was too much and wanted to confront his former management for the wrong news that was being put out there about him. “I wanted to confront them,  but Bulldog told me not to”. He went further to dare people to ask his former management what he had done to him to deserve such treatment from them. “When you see them, ask them what I did wrong? At a point, I felt threatened about a post made on social media and lodged a complaint at the police because I wanted to be safe for myself and my family.  They weren’t reaching out when I tried calling them so I had to report it to the safest authorities “.

Showing his concern about the current trend about highlife music in Ghana,  he said it was disturbing the way high life music was deviating from its normal course.  He revealed that the original high life music he knew isn’t what is being categorised as highlife music now.  He however said he doesn’t feel threatened by the direction of the genre, saying he knows he delivers good highlife music to his fans.

He took the time to perform his new single Konkonsa and said he didn’t necessarily close in defense of his boss NAM 1, but tackled a lot of issues in the song.
