Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artiste, Kojo Kurankye best known in showbiz as Ras Kuuku isn’t happy with Chaterhouse Ghana, organisers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and to back his point, he has stated emphatically that he is better than all the nominees in the Male Vocalist of the year category for this year’s VGMA.
The musician was expressing his grievances to Sammy Flex of Zylofon Fm in a phone interview on Tuesday.
As monitored by ghlinks.com.gh , the Nwansina hit maker in a reply to why he feels bitter about this year’s snub of VGMA nomination said he doesn’t understand why the organizers chose to overlook his work and contribution for the year in review, stating that he put in a lot of work and deserves a slot. “Are the nominees for male vocalist of the year category better than I am? Is their voice better than mine? I ask. Who is better than the ghetto youth president?”
Ras Kuuku in response to what is making him feel more insulted said he received a phone call from the organizers informing him that he has been nominated and therefore has been invited to the Nominees announcement at the Labadi Beach Hotel last Friday. He added that he got there only to realize his name wasn’t included in the list. He says he feels confused because he doesn’t see the reason why he should be invited to the program if he isn’t part of the nominations. To climax his allegations against the organizers, he said he feels the organizers are cheats and hate him.
This year’s Male Vocalist of the year category is being contested by King Promise, Akwaboah, Kidi and Luigi Maclean.
