Howell Wayans ( born 26 August 1936 – aged 86 years) was an American former supermarket manager who passed away on March 31, 2023.
He was widely known as the patriarch of the Wayans family and was born as Howell Stouten Wayans in New York City to Paul Otto and Lillian Victoria Howell.
Wayans spent his career working as a supermarket manager, using his salary to raise his ten children with his wife Elvira Alethia in New York City while instilling discipline in them.
Despite having a large family, Wayans ensured that he provided for them and retired from the labor industry after years of hard work.
Wayans was a widower after his wife Elvira Alethia, a homemaker and social worker, passed away on her 82nd birthday in July 2020.
The couple met in the early 1950s and enjoyed almost seven decades of marriage.
They lived in Chelsea, New York City, and were survived by their ten children and several grandchildren.
