Accra Hearts of Oak have officially parted ways with manager and former Ghana International Kim Grant after nearly 16 months of being in charge of the Phobians.
Hearts CEO at the time ,Mr. Mark Noonan ,together with Kim Grant, set together a plan and template to guide hearts over the next few years.
This plan included the progression of young players into the hearts set up from junior sides, and also the tactic Kim Grant termed as ‘strategic signings’.
His first season as Hearts coach saw him knocked out in the semi final of the Normalisation Committee Special Competition Tier 1, losing on penalties to arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
The last few days has had his future called to question but Kim Grant remained coy and unperturbed about the questions surrounding his future.
There have been several calls by Hearts fans over the underwhelming transfer activity by the club in the off season.
Also worrying was the uncertainties of the future of key players Joseph Esso and club captain Mohammed Fatawu. Fatawu has since extended his contract with the phobians but Esso’s still lingers.
The final straw was the home loss in the Ghana Premier League 2019/2020 season opener against Berekum Chelsea.
Hearts travel to Tarkwa to face Medeama SC on Matchday 2.
