The flag bearer for the National Democratic Congress, H.E. John Mahama has said that he was okay when god chose another person to lead the country in the 2016 general elections.

According to him, even though he felt bad, he knew God wanted the best for Ghana and chose a capable person at that time.

He was speaking to the people of the Garu constituency when he made that statement and urged them not to vote for the former NDC member of Parliament for Garu constituency now an independent candidate, Dominic Azumah.

Mahama indicated that he understood god’s plan when he chose another person for the job in 2016 and said everyone has time to shine in life. He added that the same cannot be said for the independent candidate who has been a five-time MP.

He established that Hon. Azumah should understand that it is now someone’s time to take over the mantle. He urged party faithful not to vote for him as he spreads false news about the party.

“God’s time is the best. Sometimes you want something but God does not give it to you. In 2016 I stood for an election, I wanted to continue my second term as President but God did not give it to me. So, I handed over to the next person and I wished him well and said take it, God be with you. God has time for everybody,” he said.
