A Prince Opoku Agyeman penalty was enough to get Medeama Sporting Club back to winning ways after his goal powered the Tarkwa club to a 1-0 win against Ashantigold.
The Tarkwa side continued to launch attack after attack in search of the opener. Having lost their last fixture, an away game at Fawu to Dreams FC, the determination to right the wrongs and get back to winning ways drove them on.
At the end of the first half, the scoreline was 0-0 as neither side found a way through.
Medeama started the second half the way they ended the first with the home side in search of an equaliser.
Prince Opoku Agyeman , the chief tormentor was in the thick of affairs again as he engineered the attack of Medeama.
He was rewarded in the 64th minute however as Medeama were awarded a penalty. Opoku Agyeman stepped up and duly converted the spot kick to put the home side ahead
The yellow and mauves held on for a vital victory that takes them to up to second place on the table.
Elsewhere, league leaders Berekum Chelsea were held at their home ground in the Brong Ahafo derby against second place Aduana Stars. The game ended 1-1.
