Berekum Chelsea are fast becoming the giant killers in this season’s league campaign as they recorded another big win on Matchweek 3.

In what was undoubtedly the most surprising result of the week, Berekum Chelsea caused a major upset as they defeated Kumasi Asante Kotoko to end their perfect start to the season.

Chelsea , who beat hearts of oak away at the Accra Sports Stadium in the season opening game repeated the same feat with a brilliant win against the porcupine warriors.

Kofi Owusu’s 6th minute effort was what it took to see off Kotoko in the game that was marred by some minor events of fan agitation in the end.

Chelsea resolved to protect their lead after the goal and as hard as Kotoko tried, they couldn’t find the equaliser.

Kotoko’s Anim Cudjoe, came close for the porcupine warriors a few times but came short each time.

In the 80th minute however, the game had to be stopped temporarily as a wrong red card call by the referee led to fan agitation and missiles being thrown on the pitch.

All was settled for the game to continue but Kotoko still couldn’t find the equaliser. The loss means Kotoko’s brilliant 100% record comes to an end.

Elsewhere, Kotoko’s arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak won their first game of the season as two freekicks in each half from Esso and Kordzi was enough to see Hearts grab a very important 2-1 home win against Ebusua Dwarfs.

Dormaa based Aduana Stars and Ashantigold continued their very impressive starts to the season with wins against King Faisal and Eleven Wonders respectively.

Here is a summary of Matchweek 3’s results:

Liberty 1:1 Medeama

☑️ Hearts Of Oak 2-1 Dwarfs

Kotoko 0-1 Chelsea

AshantiGold SC 2-0 Wonders

Bechem Utd 1-0 Olympics
