Matchweek 10 of the Ghana Premier League was not short of the usual excitement and amazing football. In Accra, Kofi Kordzi got Accra Hearts of Oak got back to winning ways
The Ahafo club, came to the Accra Sports stadium with a worrying reputation ofnot recording an away win in 4 attempts. This poor record however continued as Hearts got one over them.
Hearts of Oak were the better side all game and controlled the game for large periods. Joseph Esso, Emmanuel Nettey and Frederick Ansah Botchway controlled early proceedings with Hearts piling on the pressure.
Esso got the ball at the back of the net in the 7th minute but it was ruled out for an offsie in the build up.
Hearts continued to pile on the pressure but it was Bechem United who got the opener in the 27th minute from the penalty spot after Hafiz Konkoni was brought down by Robert Addo Sowah in the box. PrinceAdu Kwabena made no mistake from the spot.
Hearts replied quickly through a penalty of their own after Kofi Kordzi was felled in the box. Kordzi stepped up and converted the resulting spot kick.
Hearts continued to pile on the pressure and in the 64th minute, skipper Fatawu Mohammed turned home a shot by substitute Manaf Umar.
The drama didn’t end there as Bechem got the equaliser in the 76th minute throigh Hafiz Konkoni.
However, Hearts had the final word as Kofi Kordzi nodded home in the 94th minute for the winner.
The win takes Hearts to 7th on the take and just 3 points off the top.
On Sarturday, Victorien Adebayor delivered an outstanding performance as his brace helped inter allies to a memorable 3-1 away win against Berekum Chelsea.
Elsewhere, Liberty Professionals recorded an emphatic 5-2 win against Aduana Stars in Dansoman. The win was Liberty’s first of the season.
