GHPL Matchweek 4 Review: Great Olympics beat Karela to wrap up Midweek fixtures

Accra Great Olympics defeated Karela United 2-0 to grab their first win of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The win is a much needed sigh of relief for Great Olympics as they are without one since the start of the season.

A penalty taken expertly by veteran Gladson Awako and a late second by Abdul Razak did the trick for Olympics as they wrap up the matchweek.

Up next for the ‘Landlords of Accra’ is Elmina Sharks, who themselves got a very impressive win at the same stadium versus Inter Allies.

The biggest game of the midweek action was at Tarkwa where Medeama welcomed Kotoko to the Akoon park. An early penalty by the in form Prince Opoku Agyeman was enough as the Tarkwa boys continue their brilliant start to the season. For Kotoko, it’s back to back defeats.

Meanwhile, at Sogakope, Hearts of Oak travelled to WAFA seeking their first result whatsoever at a ground known to be very cruel to them.

Coach Edward Odoom and his boys put up a defensive masterclass to secure a point as the game ended 0-0

Below is the full compliment of Matchweek 4 results:
