Victorien Adje Adebayor scored again for Inter Allies football club as Aduana Stars renew their dominance over Asante Kotoko with a late win in a drama filled game in Dormaa.
When the need to stop a bad trend increases and pressure from fans becomes almost unbearable, football teams and players sometimes go to strange lengths in order to get their desired result. This was the case in Dormaa.
Kotoko and Aduana stars took it to another level when both teams faced each other in their Matchweek 11 fixture of the ongoing Ghana Premier League as both sides played the entire first half of the game with 10 men each.
According to reports from Dormaa, Farouq Adams of Aduana and Martin Antwi of Kumasi Asante Kotoko sat pitch side and didn’t play the first half of the game as both players wanted to be the last to step on the pitch due to a superstitious belief.
Both players later came on in the second half as both teams had the full compliment of their team for the second half.
The game itself was eventful as Aduana Stars created the early openings with Yahaya Mohammed proving a handful for the Kotoko defence.
Kotoko created some chances of their own late on but the profligacy of William Opoku Mensah and Maxwell Baako meant they still had to wait for the opener.
Aduana pressed on and finally got the winner in the 94th minute after Samuel Bioh did well to get past two players before scoring beautifully past Kwame Baah in post for Kotoko.
Bio had proved to be a huge test for Christopher Nettey at RB for Kotoko(which the defender didn’t deal so well with) and eventually got the goal his good performance deserved.
The win is Aduana’s first in 3 games as the Dormaa side return to winning ways after their humiliating 5-2 loss at Liberty last Sunday.
Elsewhere,Ghana Premier league topscorer, Victorien Adebayor was on target again for Inter Allies. However, his goal wasn’t enough as Nana Kofi Babil and Prince Opoku Agyeman scored to secure all 3 points for Medeama Sporting club in their 2-1 away win over Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium.
At the Tarkwa Akroon park, Hearts of Oak and Karela United played out a goalless draw as Bernard Boateng’s solitary goal won all 3 points for Elmina Sharks as they got the bragging rights in their regional derby against Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs.
