Ghanain musician and member of music group Praye, Praye Tietia has stated that Ghanaian music writers write better songs and do better music than their colleagues from Nigeria.
He made this statement in an interview with Zionfelix on his ‘Uncut’ show.
Praye Tietia, also known as Cartel Big J was responding to the question of whether Nigerians receive a lot of airplay in the country because of the high quality of music they make as compared to Ghanaians. Laughing to the question, he said it was a big lie
Defending his point, he noted that Ghanaians started doing hip-life and had a name for the genre when Nigerians didn’t even know what name to call their genre of music.
He established that Ghana is the hub of good music, but Nigerian music is travelling because of their numbers which far beats the Ghanaian population.
“They have a bigger market. Of course anywhere that your market is bigger, you definitely do well. Your market will be bigger but when it comes to composition, trust me, Ghanaians do better than Nigerians”, he said.
