Ghanaian attacker, Kingsley Sarfo is scheduled to be free from Jail today after spending about 17 months in jail.
Kingsley Sarfo, the Swedish based striker, was found guilty of sleeping with an underage girl and sentenced to 32 months in prison and possible deportation.
However, fresh evidence shows that the girl in question, who claimed to be underage, is way above the age she claimed to be.
Sarfo, is expected to be freed today and investigations reopened in the ‘child rape’ case.
Kingsley Sarfo will be allowed to continue his career at his club side, Malmo FF and not face deportation.
He joined Malmo FF in a deal reported to be worth about €1.5m from IK Sarius. He scored to goals in 8 appearances for Malmo FF.
Sarfo ,24 was a key figure for Malmo FF in the Swedish league before the unfortunate scandal.
His fine form earned him a call up for Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Uganda in 2017 where he made his debut for the team.
He was highly rated in both the Ghanaian and Swedish media before the unfortunate event of his prison sentence.
The Swedish FA was actually pushing for him to switch allegiance to Sweden before he made an official appearance for Ghana.
He is scheduled to be released from jail at 10:00am today.
