The two biggest dancehall acts in Ghana, Charles Nii Armah Mensah known in showbiz as Shatta Wale and Livingstone Etse Satekla known in showbiz as Stonebwoy will be staging a peace concert together after the two were involved in a brawl at the 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards some few weeks ago.
Unconfirmed news hit social media that the two will be having a peace concert after their pictures indicating peace flooded social media, but on Tuesday, the two have confirmed the peace concert and have said it is scheduled to come on sometime this year.
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy after their brawl on stage at the 20th VGMAs were called to order by an oil business man by name Kofi Abban and other notable figures like broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah. They both posted pictures on their social media pages preaching peace some few days ago.
To confirm the happenings to the media, a press conference was held on Tuesday at the Marriot Hotel, Accra dubbed Peace concert press conference to address the recent peace campaign they are both embarking on.
Hinting first about the peace concert dubbed ‘Ghana First’, the moderator for the press conference, Nana Aba Anamoah said the two have a peace concert coming up and left them to talk about it at length.
SM boss, Shatta Wale noted that thanks to the Kofi Abban Foundation and a couple of reputable persons, they have smoked the peace pipe and will be together on the same stage to perform and preach peace. “It is true we planning to get something like that courtesy Kofi Abban Foundation because Kofi Abban is one person who sat us down and told us how we can move together through business so we are looking at this from the business side of life. You people should just watch out for a great concert”.
Stonebwoy told the media that they both have been yearning for such an opportunity for a long time and are both happy its finally coming on. He called for the media to support their initiative of peace. “We have been yearning for peace for a long time because in freedom creativity thrives and in peace we all feel at ease”.
