The Ghana Football Association has duly launched the recently announced Hearts vs Kotoko game scheduled to be played in London on March 7, 2020.
The purpose of this game, as part of Ghana’s 63rd Independence Day anniversary is to sell the local game to a global audience and attract a larger market or audience.
This is the first time this game is going to be played outside the shores of Ghana after several attempts to do such never came to fruition.
The two clubs will be looking to renew their rivalries at the Barnet stadium in London come March 7, 2020.
Kotoko have already beaten Hearts this season when the two sides met in Accra on Matchday 6 of the Ghana Premier League.A late Naby Keita penalty sealed all three points for Kotoko in a 2-1 win. Justice Blay had given Kotoko the lead in the 11th minute before Joseph Esso equalised for Hearts of Oak.
On the financial side however, it was a game that grossed the highest ever gate proceeds in Ghana Premier League history with Hearts of Oak taking home about ¢326,000
The game promises to be as exciting an encounter as ever with both sides looking to put on a good show to sell Ghana football to the world.
