Genevieve Nnaji has lamented the recent killings of two young Nigerian women in the country.
A teenage girl, Tina Ezekwe was reportedly killed by the police, sparking protests in the country.
Another young lady, Vera Uwa Omozuwa, was raped and murdered inside a church in the University of Benin.
Genevieve Nnaji took to her Twitter page to opine that men either abuse their powers or have the power to abuse as women live in constant fear of them.
“They either abuse their power, or have the power to abuse. In or out of uniform, we live in constant fear of men. Tina Ezekwe. Vera Omozuwa.
Rest In Peace my darlings. We will get justice”, she wrote.
Her tweet has sparked debate over gender based violence in Nigeria.
Some people have however disagreed with her comment that women live in constant fear of men.
