Former Kotoko striker Sogne Yacouba has joined Medeama Sporting Club on a free transfer after spending two years with the Porcupine Warriors in Kumasi.
Sogne Yacouba, who became a few agent after Kotoko failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension has now joined the league leaders in Tarkwa.
Yacouba joined Kotoko some 3 years ago and became a fan favorite almost immediately.
The centre forward possesses great upper body strength and is blessed with sublime footwork and a powerful right foot.
His name came into prominence when he produced outstanding performances for Kotoko in the CAF Confederations Cup 2 seasons ago.
This drew attention from several clubs outside the country with South African heavyweights Orlando Pirates rumored to have offered a huge sum for the burkinabe international.
It went downhill from there as he was subsequently benched for the best part of Kotoko’s successful campaign in the normalisation committee special competition tier 1.
He however returned to the side as they began the new 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
He started Kotoko’s first three games but contract issues resurfaced and he was subsequently benched for the next 11 game weeks.
Yacouba became a free agent at the beginning of the month and has now joined league leaders Medeama Sporting Club.
The Tarkwa club already boats of an exciting attack with Nana Kofi Babil and Prince Opoku Agyeman.
The signing of Yacouba might just be the last piece of the puzzle needed to make them champions.
