It appears that Asamoah Gyan has been inspired by Abedi Pele who nurtured all three of his sons to become football players and has therefore invested a lot of resources in laying the foundation for his development.

Gyan also excelled at the club level playing for Udinese, Rennes, Sunderland, Al Ain, Shanghai SIPG, Kayserispor, NorthEast United FC.
