In 1970 Fred Amugi started starring in dramas and documentaries until 1985, when he appeared in his first movie, “Opinto”.

The movie won him a lot of accolades that led him to star in other dramas and films.

His filmography includes numerous Ghanaian films and films from other countries.

The following are some of his top films; Shoe Shine Boy (2013), Nyame Bekyere 1&2 (2015), Menua Paa Nie (2016), Housekeepers (2016) among others.

His first international role was in Holby City, a BBC drama in 2005 as the character Kwame Attakora.

He also starred in the Netflix-exclusive Hollywood movie, Beast of No Nation in 2015, in addition to his role in BBC drama Holby boy.

He played the role of a “pastor” in the movie. The Cursed Ones, a 2015 British award-winning movie, starred Amugi as Pastor Uchebo.

He has also appeared in movies such as African Timber 1989, Kofi Nkrabea, Welcome Home, Nyame Bekyere 1 & 2, That Day, Menua Paa Nie, Beautiful Ruins, and Housekeepers.
