A Nigerian Company, Zinni Media has sued boxing champion Floyd Mayweather for failing to fulfill his part of the contract to make five appearances at some scheduled events.
The boxer was booked for appearances in Ghana and Nigeria and took a part payment of 210 thousand dollars out of the agreed 375 thousand dollars.
According to TMZ, after the botched deal, an agreement was reached by the two sides for a rescheduling of the event to December 2017, with an agreed appraised fee of 550 thousand dollars, a deal Mr. Mayweather once again failed to respect and honour.
According to the suit which is seeking some 2 million dollars as damages from the boxer, Mr. Mayweather having failed to turn up for the event also failed to return monies paid to him in respect of the deal.
The boxer who has been charged by a federal court in California is expected to appear in court soon.
It will be recalled that videos of the boxer promoting his scheduled appearances in Ghana went viral some time ago with tickets for the event at the time selling at some 5 thousand dollars each.
But patrons were left disappointed when it emerged that the boxing champion was not going to make it for the event.
