FIFA have extended shortly, the mandate of the GFA normalisation committee to cover the period of the FA presidential election.
The GFA normalisation committee was put in place to replace the erstwhile executive Committee of the old administration of the Ghana Football Association.
Their mandate officially ended a week ago but has now been extended by a short time.
A statement by FIFA read;
“The Bureau of the Fifa Council has extended the mandate of the GFA Normalization Committee (NC) to enable the NC to supervise the upcoming GFA Elections.”
“The second mandate of the Normalization Committee expired on September 30, 2019”
However, in view of the upcoming GFA elections, Fifa has extended the Normalization Committee’s mandate up to November 17, 2019 to enable it to complete the process of electing a new President and Executive Committee.”
The roadmap for the GFA election has also been approved.
The normalisation committee has been in power for a little over a year, headed by Dr. Kofi Amoah and has members to be Lawyer Naa Odofoley Nortey and Samuel Osei Kuffuor.
Madam Lucy Quist ,who served as vice chairman, resigned some months back. The Spokesperson of the committee, Dan kweku Yeboah, also resigned some months back.
The committee has 4 weeks now to wrap up and handover to the new FA administration.
